60 years of Mei Wah Eindhoven – A family story full of flavour
On April 15, 2025, we celebrated a milestone: 60 years of culinary tradition, family history, and innovation on Leenderweg in Eindhoven.
What once started as a classic Chinese takeaway is today a destination for lovers of Contemporary Chinese Cuisine – refined, seasonal, and rooted in our South Chinese origins.
Grandpa and Grandma Yuen opened our first restaurant in the 60s, after gaining experience at restaurant Hong Kong on the Emmasingel. Their sons took over the baton – and now the third generation, Taks and Anouk Yuen, continue the family vision: tasteful, innovative, but always true to our roots.
Our journey has had its highs and lows. From the loss of father Yuen just before the 50th anniversary, to being crowned Best Asian Restaurant by GaultMillau Nederland and listings in the Lekker500 and Michelin Guide. From takeaway to fine dining. Today, we cook with a compact team for our dear guests – with attention, love, and a glass of wine that is a perfect match.
To celebrate this anniversary, we serve a 6-course lunch menu for €60 – a culinary ode to our family and guests, full of classics and chef’s favourites.
